Updates On Wage Subsidy Program

Last week, the federal government provided more details regarding the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) program.

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)

All the rules for the proposed claim Period 4 (June 7 to July 4, 2020) will be identical to the rules for the preceding claim Period 3 (May 10 to June 6, 2020).
The proposed claim Period 4 is from June 7 to July 4, 2020. The reference period for reduction in revenue is June 2020 over June 2019 or the average of January and February 2020.
The government will soon announce details of potential changes to the program’s framework for claim Period 5 (July 5 to August 1, 2020) and/or claim Period 6 (August 2 to August 29, 2020).
