Updates On Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

Last week, the federal government provided more details on the extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). Reminder: The CEWS has been extended by an additional 12 weeks to August 29, 2020.

  • Regulations are being introduced to maintain the same eligibility criteria.
  • They have recently completed consultations with businesses on potential adjustments to the program, including the 30% revenue decline threshold.
  • Any potential changes would commence as of periods five (July 5 to August 1) and/or six (August 2 to August 29).
  • Further details to follow.
